What people have said about us...

`I have benefited greatly from Steve's knowledge of Roman times and also from his excellent replica artefacts. I cannot recommend him highly enough!' - Caroline Lawrence, author of The Roman Mysteries.

`Steve Wade of Allectus Historical Services has provided an excellent service in terms of props, costumes and research. As an author and head of the Late Roman Re-enactment society Britannia, we have benefited from using his skills and expertise in many events and Film/TV productions (from Ridley Scott's Gladiator to television comedy). From board-games, Roman poetry, recreated Roman cookery (as seen on Celebrity Gladiators), the production of classical theatre masks, Coptic tunics and a staggering 100 cloaks the attention to detail and accuracy cannot be faulted' - Dan Shadrake, founder of Britannia, The Arthurian Society.

Two members of Allectus Historical Services joined in with one of our regular family activity days.  It was a Roman-themed day, celebrating our recent acquisition of a new treasure – a locally-found Roman coin hoard.

They were wonderful!  They portrayed a soldier and a lady with her spinning materials.  The children and their parents appreciated their lively and appropriate portrayal, and their ability to answer all questions.  We appreciated all of that, as well as their ability to adapt themselves to our gallery and our local Roman story.  We would definitely use them again! - Learning Section, Bristol's City Museum & Art Gallery

Allectus Historical Services has worked with me for the past 18 months in supporting part of our extensive outreach and learning programme.  The group has provided a ‘Living History’ element to work with over twenty primary schools, three library days, two ‘Hands on History’ events with families as well as celebrating National Archaeology week at Wimpole Hall and Castle Hill, Cambridge. The group is very enthusiastic, professionally run, highly organised, well equipped for the Roman time period and have added greatly to the educational experience of children and adults alike.  I would highly recommend them to school and youth organisations. - David Crawford-White, Outreach & Learning Officer, Cambridgeshire Archaeology.
