A Roman altar dedicated to the god Jupiter by G.Cornelius Rufus

About us...

Quite simply - we're history fans first and foremost! We also know from long experience that knowledge is best absorbed when it is fresh, exciting and lively with a good mixture of hands on activities as well as more traditional techniques.

Originally based in Bedfordshire, we have recently moved to the Brecon area. We began running history workshops in 2006 for students mainly at KS2 covering the Roman and Saxon periods of Britain. We expanded that later to the Victorian and then Tudor periods and undertook workshops for students as young as 4 - and as old as 17.

We haven't restricted ourselves to working at schools however! We've also worked as supporting artistes for history-based TV productions and demonstrations in news items on local TV, for museums such as the Canterbury Roman Museum and Bristol's City Museum and made reproduction historical items such as Vindolanda tablets for the Roman Army Museum at Vindolanda. We've given demonstrations of Roman cookery, textile making, Roman childhood and talked about life was like after the end of Roman influence.

History can be fun and our clients generally go away with a smile on their face...along with a few obscure and interesting facts about the period we're portraying!

After a period of reorganisation we're now open for business again. We are currently concentrating on the Roman period but watch this space...!
